Ordinance allows businesses to serve alcohol outdoors

ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – There will be a few more options downtown after the Aberdeen City Commission passed an ordinance that will allows businesses the opportunity to serve alcohol outdoors.

Shelley Westra-Heier, Executive Director of the Aberdeen Downtown Association, said she has wanted this opportunity for a while after seeing other towns being able to do it.

Westra-Heier said that she is still working on events for the downtown area and said that it is a matter of “when, not if” those can take place.

She said local residents have done a great job of dealing with the coronavirus and encouraged people to patronize local businesses.
