PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- The resident-only pheasant hunting season opened last weekend. Even more hunters will take to the field next weekend as the pheasant season opens for non-resident hunters this weekend. Getting those out-of-staters here is the job for Nick Harrington, Communications Director for the Game, Fish and Parks Department.
Harrington told the Game, Fish and Parks Commission this month the Upland Outlook is the most important piece of communication used to make hunters aware of conditions for hunting.
Digital marketing is used to expose hunters from outside South Dakota of all available opportunities through the Game, Fish and Parks.
Marketing information also includes details on other birds to hunt such as prairie chicken and grouse to expose hunters to all of the hunting opportunities in the state.
