Pair Of SD Athletes Named NAIA Players of the Week [Baseball]

KANSAS CITY, MO (naia.prestosports.com) – Aidan Chang of Mount Marty (S.D.) is the NAIA Baseball Player of the Week, and Nicholai Arbach of Dakota State (S.D.) is the NAIA Baseball Pitcher of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from April 14-20 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees.

Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter.

NAIA Baseball Player of the Week

Aidan Chang, Mount Marty (S.D.) – SR – C

  • Belted five home runs and drove in 14 runs in helping Mount Marty to a 3-1 record.
  • Batted .688 (11-of-16) with five runs scored.
  • Lined three doubles to finish with a 1.813 slugging percentage.
  • Had at least two hits in each of the four games he played in.
  • Recorded two home runs and five RBI in two different contests last week.

NAIA Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Nicholai Arbach, Dakota State (S.D.) – Senior – RHP

  • Recorded a 7-inning, complete-game shutout against Bellevue (Neb.).
  • Last week’s 7-inning outing was his fifth-consecutive complete game.
  • Handed Bellevue its first conference loss of the season and snapped its 17-game win streak.
  • Surrendered only two hits.
  • Struck out nine and walked none.
