VERMILLION, S.D. (WNAX) – The coronavirus pandemic is challenging health care professionals and how medicine is taught.

Dr. Tim Ridgway is the incoming Dean of the USD Sanford School of Medicine.

Ridgway says the pandemic is also illustrating how unequal health care is across the country.

Ridgway says medical teachers have to respond to the public health care need.

Over 2.5 million people in the US have been infected with COVID-19 and over 127,000 have died.
