ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – While there will be some modifications along the way, the Aberdeen Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department is preparing for summer activities.
The first step is the opening of Storybook Land today.
Mark Hoven, Director of Parks and Rec, talked about opening the facility.
He said the goal is to get the rides and other parts of Storybook Land up and going on May 22.
Parks and Rec is also planning on offering a variety of summer programs as well. Registration will take place on Thursday, May 14.
Hoven said a decision on the Aberdeen Aquatic Center will be made in the near future.
As for the Fourth of July Fireworks display, Hoven said shooting the fireworks should not be a problem, however, the events during that day may need to be modified.
