FORT PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- A new senior living complex in Fort Pierre is hiring staff and getting closer to opening its doors.
Owners had hoped to open the Peaceful Pines facility Oct. 1, 2023, but Mayor Gloria Hanson says there’s been a few different things causing the delay.
Hanson says based on what she’s been told, interest in Peaceful Pines– for both employment or as a residence– has been good.
The facility will have 15 memory care units, 20 assisted living units and 19 independent living units along with community activity space.
HME Care, the company that operates Peaceful Pines, currently has senior living communities open in Milbank and Rapid City, with facilities under construction at Fort Pierre, Spearfish, Madison, Huron and Brookings.
