Peak could hit South Dakota late June into early July

YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – While infection projection models continue to change, most seem to agree that the peak numbers are still in front of us.

Doug Ekeren, (eck-urn) President of Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, says they are using an adjusted model that takes Sioux Falls out of the mix.

Ekeren says they also took a closer look at their service area.

Ekeren says they see a sharp rise and fall from June into July.

Ekeren gave the latest projections to the Yankton County Commission at their meeting last week.
