ABERDEEN, SD (NSUWolves.com) [FRI] – Two late goals courtesy of junior forward Jaylee Hofer were enough to take down goalless Minnesota Crookston in their first two Gypsy Week matches. Through 90 minutes, Northern State racked up two goals, 16 shots, six shots on goal, five corners and eight fouls.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Through almost 84 minutes of action, the scoreboard echoed zeros, but Northern State stayed on the offensive, crossing a ball to Chloe Wallhead before Kali Yates picked up a penalty on Wallhead inside the 18-yard box
- Jaylee Hofer lined up for the penalty shot and sent it flying through the net to give NSU their first point of the match
- But Hofer didn’t stop there as she would pick up yet another goal less than three minutes later to put the nail in the coffin on UMC
- The junior tallied two goals, one by way of PK, on three shots (three shots on goal).
- But it was Kennedi Gack who led the team in shots, putting four up on the night, with Hofer (three), Lauren Youngquist (two) and Lauren Carpenter (two) following behind
- Northern State’s defense held strong through the match, allowing just four shots all game
- Inside the net, NSU’s defense made Audrey Burns’ job easy, holding the Golden Eagles to zero shots on goal
- For Minnesota Crookston, midfielder Andrea Cuenca Medina recorded two of UMC’s four shots, while Elsie Lefers and Ella Furlong earned one each

ABERDEEN, SD (NSUWolves.com) [SUN] – Northern State tallied their fifth win of the season and remain undefeated through NSIC play as they reigned victorious over the Dragons of MSU Moorhead 3-1, thanks to two goals off the bench. In the battle, the Wolves recorded three goals, 19 shots (eight shots on goal), three corners, 11 fouls and one goal allowed.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern State chalked their first of three goals early, with a pass from Jaylee Hofer to Kylie Albert for a goal
- Throughout the remainder of the first half, the Wolves kept the Dragons on their toes, spending most of the half on their side of the field
- With around 20 minutes left, MSU Moorhead drew the equalizer, with Sophie Thompson sending a corner kick into the box to Kaci Malo before Malo tapped it to Mary Cox to score
- This started a big momentum shift for the Dragons, pressuring the Wolves multiple times in their own goal
- But Northern State was not done yet, with Hofer tallying her second assist of the afternoon on a cross to Ella Johnson, who hit the post on her first shot before gathering the ball and scoring on her second shot of that drive
- After an MSUM foul, Ella Blake lined up for a free kick in which she put the ball into motion, crossing it to Sarah Helderop before Helderop put the ball in the net for their last goal of the afternoon
- Albert led the way with four shots on the day, while Helderop led the team in shots on goal with two in the match
- Aside from the goal in the second half, the Dragons were unable to record another shot on goal, with NSU’s defense stepping up, allowing just six shots all afternoon
- Cox tallied three of MSUM’s six shots, while Clara Butler racked up two of her own
- Emilia Kristensen recorded five saves in the match
