ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The pheasant hunting season is upon us.
The residential season got underway this past weekend. Nick Cochran, Brown County Conservation Officer, said it was a good weekend with mixed results.
The traditional non-residential opener is Saturday, Oct. 17.
There are some changes this season hunting season. The opener will start at 10 a.m., instead of noon. The hunting season will also run longer into January.
Cochran said the harvest conditions should also help hunting this fall.
Another change is that there is not an official bird count. Cochran said no matter what the numbers are, pheasant hunting is always solid in South Dakota.
