PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- Pheasant hunters had good luck last season in South Dakota, but numbers were down from two years ago.
Chad Switzer, the Administrator of the Division of Wildlife, updated the Game, Fish and Parks Department Commission at their meeting Friday at Custer State Park.
Those numbers are down about four percent from two years ago.
Switzer says they are seeing more hunter success through the entire season.
Switzer says the pheasant harvest is still among the best in the country.
Just over one hundred thirty thousand hunters were in the field last season, an increase of about seven percent from the previous year.
