PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- By all accounts the 2024 pheasant hunting season has been successful so far. The Game, Fish and Parks Commission was updated Thursday on the first month of the season by Wild Life Division Director Tom Kirschenmann.
In the central and eastern parts of the state multiple birds per hunter seemed to be the standard.
Kirschenmann says most conservation officers are noticing the fall harvest completed because of the warm, dry weather.
A landowner with property in Stanley and Haakon County told G-F-and-P officials they are seeing two to three time more birds this year than in previous years.
