SOUTH DAKOTA(KCCR)- It’s here. South Dakota’s annual rite of passage begins Saturday with the opening of the non-resident pheasant hunting season. Wildlife Division Director with the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department Tom Kirshenmann says excitement for the season has been building for weeks.
He says the weather for the opener is important to a good season start.
South Dakota’s pheasant season is open until January 31st of 2024.
