YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The shutdown of the Smithfield Foods processing plant is an example of what needs to be done to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
Dr. Mike Pietila with the Yankton Medical Clinic is also the head of the Intensive Care Unit at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital.
Pietila says the focus now has to be on mitigation.
Pietila says he expects to see more cases continue to break out for quite a while.
Pietila says they don’t have the available test to do an adequate job of tracing and isolating people that are showing symptoms.
