YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – Many cities and counties are passing bans on gatherings of 10 or more people and asking bars and restaurants to only serve carry out customers.

Yankton Doctor Mike Pietila says he knows how difficult that is.

Pietila also is head of the Intensive Care Unit at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital and says the health benefits will ultimately outweigh the business costs.

Pietila says stopping the spread is critical to keeping the hospital services available to all that need them.
