Physician says state not testing enough for COVID

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (WNAX) – Despite Covid-19 infection numbers dropping in South Dakota, health experts are warning that precautions are still needed.

Dr. Michael Elliott, Chief Medical Officer at Avera McKennen Hospital in Sioux Falls, says South Dakota is still very high in positive results.

Elliott says the state is not testing enough.

Elliott says the state is still a hot spot nationally.

Elliott says while deaths are starting to go down, the rate has been very high for the last several weeks.

Elliott says the good news is that more doses of vaccines are due to arrive each week.
