PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- The Pierre City Commission has given first reading to n ordinance containing the 2025 city budget. City Administrator Kristie Honeywell says the city is again taking a very conservative approach to budgeting.
Honeywell says while not confirmed the budget includes an increase in utility fees for residents.
The city is estimating receiving three-point-eight million in property taxes next year.
The City of Pierre has three major focuses for spending in 2025 including 420-thousand dollars in match funding for a runway rehabilitation project; 600-thousand dollars to put toward a new ladder truck for the fire department and 200-thousand dollar to replace computer system servers.
