PIERRE, S.D. (DRG News) – A 25-year-old man from Pierre faces charges in connection with a shooting last month in Pierre.

A Hughes County Grand Jury indicted Derek At The Straight on charges of Attempted First Degree Murder, Commission of a Felony While Armed with a Firearm and Four Counts of Aggravated Assault.

Information from the Pierre Police Department after the July 9, 2020, incident said a 30-year-old man from Pierre was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital after being shot in the 400 block of West Prospect Avenue. The victim received severe, life-threatening injuries.

At The Straight is currently being held at the Hughes County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
