PIERRE, S.D. (KCCR) – Pierre Regional Airport is adding another event to a busy 2020 schedule. Just weeks ago it was announced a large air show will be held at the airport on Independence Day weekend. Mayor Steve Harding says Pierre Regional has been named a stop on a unique air race through the middle of the country.
Harding says it’s a 2,500 mile race that will begin in Grand Forks, N.D.
The City of Pierre received notice that Pierre is being included as a stop in the race late Tuesday afternoon. Additional details will come out on the race in the months ahead. The “Let Freedom Fly” air show is set for July 4th and 5th at Pierre Regional Airport.
