PIERRE, S.D. (KCCR) – The Pierre School District is continuing to put together plans for a new kind of school year in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. Superintendent Dr. Kelly Glodt told the Pierre School Board Monday night of changes the District is making to keep kids safe.
The District is also adding nursing staff.
Glodt thanked those who participated in a survey sent to school families just before Independence Day. He’s says participation was over 90-percent and was valuable in helping the District move forward with planning.
Glodt says they are trying to get as much information out to parents as quick as possible, but also want that information to be as accurate as possible noting some changes may be possible along the way. School staff has been looking at all aspects of a school day from classroom arrangements, to student flows between classes in buildings. Glodt says they are continuing to focus on an Aug. 20 start date for school.
