Pierre to host meeting Monday dealing with the new social studies standards

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota School Superintendents Association has come out in opposition to the proposed social studies standards.

The state Board of Education Standards will hold another hearing on those standards Monday in Pierre.

Rob Monson, Executive Director of the School Administrators of South Dakota, says all of his affiliated groups oppose the revision.

Monson says they are concerned about the process and the content.

Monson says they are in uncomfortable  territory.

The hearing will be at the Ramkota Convention Center in Pierre, beginning at 9AM Monday.
