Planned Parenthood talks about running the only abortion clinic in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KOTA)- It’s no secret South Dakota is, according to its lawmakers, an abortion-unfriendly state.

What is less discussed is the daily trial of actually working in South Dakota’s lone abortion clinic in Sioux Falls, operated by Planned Parenthood.

Kristin Hayward is the South Dakota manager of outreach and advocacy for Planned Parenthood, and shared her perspective.

Hayward said there is fear as an abortion provider in South Dakota, and shared some of the stressors she sees in her line of work.

Hayward addressed Gov. Kristi Noem, and the state of reproductive health in South Dakota’s political spaces.

For pro-life voters, Hayward had a brief message.

Planned Parenthood, in conjunction with the ACLU of South Dakota, recently reveled in a legal win which allowed for the continued use of medication abortion pills in the state.
