ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – Final plans are now in place for the Brown County Summer Fest. The event takes place Aug. 7-16 at the Brown County Fairgrounds.
Brown County Commission Chair Rachel Kippley explained how Summer Fest came into being following the postponement of this year’s Brown County Fair.
Kippley said the bulk of the Summer Fest will be Aug. 12-15.
The Summer Fest will include a midway, which actually will be a combination of three different groups. Wristbands will be available, similar to the fair.
Other parts of the Summer Fest will include a variety of vendors and concerts, bull riding on Thursday and Friday night, and a concert by Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band on Saturday night.
Kippley said there will also be an opportunity to show livestock.
While the Brown County Fair will return next year, Kippley said there may be a chance to keep Summer Fest going as well.
