Plea agreement reached in the Christopher Mexican homicide case

PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- A plea deal has been reached in a Pierre homicide case.  Hughes County States Attorney Jessica LaMie says 39-year-old Miranda Henry is agreeing to plead guilty First Degree Manslaughter-Domestic Violence.

Some documents in the case were ordered sealed by Sixth Circuit Judge Bobbi Rank and LaMie says that will limit what public can see about how Henry killed 49-year-old Christopher Mexican who was in a relationship with Henry.

LaMie is pleased with the deal.

Mexican was found dead by Pierre police on February 9th  of 2022 following a disturbance call at the Pierre Inn and Suites.  Sentencing for Henry is scheduled for late February.
