WATERTOWN, S.D.(AlphaMedia)–South Dakota is expanding the list of people eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

Prairie Lakes Healthcare System CEO K.C. DeBoer made the announcement at a Wednesday afternoon press briefing.

DeBoer says there will be a mass vaccination event held in Watertown next week.

DeBoer says there will be more people that need to be vaccinated than the number of doses available, so weekly mass vaccination events will follow.

Thirty five percent of South Dakotans have already received one dose of the vaccine, and 21-percent are finished with the process.
