Presentation College Football Team Wraps Up Home Season with Tough Loss to Warriors

ABERDEEN, SD (PCSaints.com) –

Waldorf Univ. 13-6

PC

The Saints nearly notched their 1st win of the season on Saturday, but as someone once said (even if it’s inaccurate), “fieldgoals don’t win games”. Presentation led 6-0 late in the contest, getting on the board with a pair of Max Welch FG’s – including a school-record 47-yarder! Waldorf tied things up on a 67y TD carry from Jatoviay Hill with 4:19 to go, as the PAT was missed. Then, with 29 seconds remaining, the Warriors went on top for good with a 4y TD toss from Tyler O’Hara to Samuel Huntley.

Both offenses struggled for a stretch between quarters two & three with the squads combining for a total of 25 yards on eleven-straight drives with two 1st downs. PC wound up 2/15 on 3rd down & 0/2 on 4th down, and they were out-gained 267-158 yards with just three fewer offensive plays run (63-60).

Michael McPeek went 11/28 passing for 82y, but was picked off twice for PC; and he added 20 yards rushing on 12 carries. Innocent Okoh toted the rock 15x for 57y to lead the ground game. Marshal Chace was the lone Saint with more than one catch, making seven grabs for 75y in windy conditions – even for Swisher Field. Devonta Brooks snared his 6th career INT – tying Jordan Taylor in 2nd place all-time at PC, and Lane Bourdon tacked on 12 tackles. On special teams, Kody Griffis blocked a punt, but PC was unable to gain yardage on their next possession and didn’t take advantage.

WU was led by Hill’s rushing attack, as the junior carried it 21x for 148y and made a catch for 6y. He did lose a fumble, however. O’Hara wound up 11/23 for just 69y w/ a TD & an INT. Huntley led the team in catches w/ five for just 23y, while Ryan Martinez had 30y receiving on three snags.
