Preview of 109th SDFU’s annual convention

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Coming up next week, the South Dakota Farmers Union will be hosting their 109th SDFU Convention in Huron.  SDFU’s President Doug Sombke & National Farmers Union Vice President Jeff Kippley provides a preview.

President Sombke talks about the issue of property rights.

Vice President Kippley talks about the impact of Refered Law 21 being defeated in November.

Another topic to be discussed is childcare. President Sombke:

Another topic will be seeing more competition in livestock.  Vice President Kippley.

One of the speaker scheduled to appear is Eric Snodgrass who will talk about the impact weather has in agriculture.

A forum will involve David Owens, President of the South Dakota Chamber of Commerce, Karl Adam, President of the Bankers Association, & lobbyist Matt Krogman of the South Dakota Realtors Association.  President Sombke discuss the purpose of this panel.

Kippley discuss the issue of how to address property taxes in the ag industry.

President Sombke will deliver his speech on the second day of the convention.  He previews some of the topics that he may discuss.

National Farmers Union President Rob Larew will deliver his speech that afternoon.  Vice President Kippley discuss what he might be talking about.

Kippley discuss the entertainment that will be there for the first night of the convention.
