ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Coming up on Thursday, there is an event/seminar dealing with the issue of elections going forward in South Dakota. The event is called “Saving South Dakota Elections- A Report to the People” and is connected with South Dakota Canvassing.
Jessica Pollema with South Dakota Canvassing provides a preview & talks about how this group came about.
On their website www.sdcanvassing.com, there is at the front of the page a 10-point plan they would like to see implemented. Pollema addressed a few of them beginning with making election day a holiday.
Pollema talks why they are opposed to early voting.
Pollema discuss why they prefer hand counting compared to using tabulation machines to count them.
Pollema was asked how to assess Secretary of State’s Monae Johnson has done so far.
Pollema compares the seminar coming up on Thursday to what was presented to Brown County voters by Rick Weible back in June.
The seminar will be held at City Lights beginning at 7pm and is free and open to the public. There will be a time for Q&A following the presentation.
