ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Thursday landowners and some South Dakota legislators will be gathering at the Capitol Rotunda at 12pm for the Property Rights Round-Up. Among those scheduled to be there, are Representatives Brandi Schaefbauer of Aberdeen & Karla Lems from Canton.
Schaefbauer talks what the focus of the event will be.
Lems explains this issue is not limited to just landowners.
Lems talks about what she will be talking about at the event.
Schaefbauer discuss how landowners are not in favor of using eminent domain for the CO2 pipeline.
Schaefbauer acknowledge that some cities in South Dakota were not in favor of Lem’s bill(HB1133) because of a lack of an impact to the communities.
Lems feels pressure from Summit Carbon Solutions & the ethanol industries impacted how they voted during the regular session.
Lems explains how important a special session is needed to allow voters to know what their stance is on this issue.
Schaefbauer acknowledge that if a special session is not called, that waiting until 2024 would be too late.
