ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Thursday, the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce hosted their Chamber Connections series at the K.O.Lee Public Library.

Speaker was Carson Walker with South Dakota News Watch with the focus on the media and civics.

Walker discuss the role of media in regards to civics.

Walker talks about the public informing them the need for information from the media.

Walker talks about a poll saying where people are getting their information from.

Walker mentions about the lack of trust the public has on all media today.

The chart shows about 34% do trust the media compare to 33% has no trust in media with about 32% somewhat trust the media.

Walker looks to debunk the myth media is trying to destroy democracy.

Mistakes do occur in media.  We are human beings not robot.  Walker talks about when changes may need to be made when doing reporting.
