Project Prison Reset in Sioux Falls Thursday

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- Area residents are lined up to give their input on the state’s plans for a new men’s prison.

Governor Larry Rhoden’s “Project Prison Reset” Task force is receiving public comments Thursday.

Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken started things off, saying it’s long past the time to take action…and noting that many parolees end up in Sioux Falls…including some who are dangerous.

Lincoln County Commissioner Joel Arends also testified, asking the state to honor local development plans.

The task force will meet three more times to create a report to be presented to a special session of the legislature in July.
