ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- At Monday night’s Aberdeen City Council meeting, the issue of the promotion funds was brought up by the City Manager Joe Gaa.

Gaa talked about setting money aside for the promotion fund.

Gaa talks about the $60,000 to be used for two different programs.  One that already had taken place & that’s the BMX Nationals held in August for $20,000.

The other $40,000 going to the upcoming South Dakota High School State Girls Softball Tournament coming up next spring(June 1st-3rd).

Councilman Josh Rife talks about what the role the promotion fund should be.

Parks, Rec, & Forestry Director Mark Hoven talks about what the $40,000 would be used for.

The City Council voted unanimously on the promotion fund request.
