Public Utility Commission Chairman comments on co2 pipeline application

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- There are at least two companies now developing plans to build pipelines to transport liquid carbon dioxide from ethanol plants to underground storage in North Dakota.

South Dakota Public Utilities Commission Chairman Chris Nelson says they have one application filed so far.

Nelson says there will be public meetings concerning the pipeline proposal later this month.

Nelson says the PUC won’t make any quick decisions on the pipeline.

Nelson says the PUC is not involved in questions of eminent domain for any pipeline. That he says is between the pipeline company, the landowner and the courts.
