ABERDEEN, S.D. (Press Releases) – Due to the Labor Day holiday observance on Monday, September 2nd, city garbage pick-up will change. Residents who normally have their garbage picked up on Monday are reminded to have their garbage out for pick up by 8 a.m. Tuesday, September 3rd. Both Monday and Tuesday’s garbage will be picked up Tuesday.
Recycling will remain on the normal five-day schedule. Dependable Sanitation will be picking up recyclables on Monday.
ALSO: Effective Tuesday September 3, 2019, the Aberdeen City Public Works Department will resume fall and winter hours. The department will start work at 8:00 AM and complete their workday at 5:00 PM.
Residents are reminded to have their garbage out for pickup by 8 AM on their normal garbage day.
Residents are also reminded that street sweeping starts in the early morning and continues through the afternoon of the designated day between the hours of 4:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Street sweeping and street maintenance will continue throughout the fall season. Additional maps and information can be obtained at the Public Works Office or by calling 626-7010.
IN ADDITION: Weather permitting, beginning at approximately 8:00 AM on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, the following intersection will be closed to thru traffic due to water main work:
Goodrich Ave SE & South Grand Street
