PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission approved a permit last week for the Wild Springs Solar energy facility near New Underwood.
Commissioner Chris Nelson says they expect to see more development like this.
Commissioner Gary Hanson says he supports these type of projects.
The project will spread across 1,500 acres and produce up to 128 megawatts of electricity. The development will cost about $190 million and should be operational in 2022.
