PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – Even though there will not be any construction this year on the Keystone XL crude oil pipeline, the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission has regular contact with Trans Canada, the company planning the line.
Commissioner Kristie Fiegen says they do hear from them.
Fiegen says the commission doesn’t have an active role right now.
Fiegen says Trans Canada, now know as TC Energy, has complied with all of their rulings.
President Trump re-issued their federal permit last month, but construction remains stalled mostly over court challenges to the route in Nebraska.
