MITCHELL, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Monday at the Capitol Rotunda in Pierre approximately 400 landowners appeared at a rally ahead of the 2026 South Dakota Legislative session.
Emceeing the event was rancher, landowner, and podcaster Amanda Radke of Mitchell. She talked about statements made by Attorney General Marty Jackley protecting landowner rights.
Radke discussed two bills discussed in that rally. The first one is HJR5001(No Eminent Domain for Private Gain) if passed would be an amendment to the South Dakota state Constitution.
Radke explains this amendment would not only impact farmers and ranchers, but also those who own property within city limits.
Prime Sponsors of that bill are District 23 legislators, Representative Spencer Gosch & Senator Mark Lapka.
Senator Lapka is also introducing SB88(Bossly Bill) this session. Radke goes over what that bill does.
On Wednesday’s KSDN Midday Report, Congressman Dusty Johnson reacted to comments made by her at the rally addressing data centers calling those unopposed, Un-American, Nimbys, and Bananas.
Radke reacted to the comments.
Radke was asked about the line between property rights and economic development.
Radke hosts a podcast called The Heart of Rural America. You check her social media accounts for when those episodes will air.
