RAPID CITY, S.D. (KBHB) – The Rapid City Council has okayed a program that will allow skilled bow hunters to kill antlerless deer inside city limits as part of an effort to keep the herd numbers in check.
The ordinance approved Monday night will allow bow and arrow use for those who take part in the new hunting program.
Approved hunters will be allowed to hunt in three designated zones located within forested areas on the west side of the city.
21 permits will be issued for the first year of the program, which begins in late September. The program will run until the first of the year.
