RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- Be it grassfires, structure fires, or accidents, the Rapid City Fire Department has stayed exceptionally busy this summer.
Tessa Jaeger, public information officer for the RCFD, said that is reflected in the hiring numbers from this summer’s fire academy, which starts Monday.
Jaeger said quality hasn’t been sacrificed for quantity.
Jaeger said the hiring process has been revised as a direct result of the call volume RCFD manages.
Multiple RCFD crews remain deployed on wildland fires in California and Washington State.
