RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- They were impossible to miss, from major downtown intersections to out front your regular grocery store, the Rapid City Fire Department took to the streets to fill their boots with donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
According to unofficial numbers provided by Tessa Jaeger, public information officer for the RCFD, it was a record breaking haul of $66,000.
However Jaeger says they’re never fully clocked out of firefighting duties.
Jaeger said the RCFD is standing out among other fire departments.
On Friday the first of two RCFD academies will hold their graduation ceremony.
