RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- It’s going to be a busy summer at the Rapid City Journey Museum – from history that fits in a shoebox, to the defining battles that took place in the region over a century ago.
Troy Kilpatrick, Journey Museum executive director, says you might have some “shoebox history” of your own the museum could be interested in.
Kilpatrick says they can’t accept literal shoeboxes just yet, adding this summer museum leaders will push to figure out exactly what the project will look like.
But there are events happening at the museum all throughout the summer, including this Saturday.
Kilpatrick acknowledges the way this battle is discussed has been slanted.
Saturday marks the anniversary of the battle, and the forum will be from 2:00 to 3:00 Saturday afternoon.
