Rapid City man identified in crash north of Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D. (Press Release) – A Rapid City, S.D., man has been identified as the person who died Saturday in a one-vehicle crash north of Rapid City.

A 1992 GMC Sierra pickup left the roadway and collided with a box culvert on a creek embankment. The driver, 35-year-old Jeremy Smith, was thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.

The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
