Rapid City Police Department comment following KOTA’s interview with anonymous drug dealer

RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- A recent KOTA exclusive interview with a Rapid City-based drug dealer has highlighted the ease of access Rapid City residents have to hard drugs including meth, cocaine, and heroin – and the dangers associated with a black market.

Brendyn Medina, spokesperson for the Rapid City Police Department, described meth in no uncertain terms.

Medina said a lot of resources go into targeting hard narcotics.

Priorities for law enforcement officers, Medina says, are changing.

Marijuana remains illegal for use, excluding state-approved medical purposes, despite a recreational legalization effort receiving 54% of the vote in November of 2020.
