Rapid City Police Department provide update on the Jesus Vance murder investigation

RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- A shooting case out of Rapid City revolving around the death of 20 year old Jesus Vance has grown to involve a methamphetamine conspiracy and at least six people.

Rapid City Police Department spokesperson Brendyn Medina said the incident took place at the South Dakota Rose Inn on April 9.

Recovered surveillance video saw two cars leaving the scene of the crime, both of which have been found, and those inside were detained for questioning.

Police retrieved a great deal of information from the questioning process, but are still searching for two persons of interest.

Medina said it’s no surprise meth is present in this case.

The investigation remains active at this time. Medina advised any resident with information about the case to text “RCPD” to 847411 to anonymously share their tip.
