RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- The switchbacks of Skyline Drive that take you to Rapid City’s Dinosaur Park and hiking trails are, in general, a safe road.
That’s according to Brendyn Medina, spokesperson for the Rapid City Police Department – following a fatal roll-over crash down the side of the hill early Wednesday morning though.
Of the four people in the car, two were ejected from the car and transported to the emergency room as a result of their injuries, where the female driver of the car was later pronounced dead.
Medina credits seatbelt use as potentially saving the lives of the others in the car.
While Rapid City’s Crash Reconstruction team is still sifting through the details, Medina provided the available facts of the incident.
Medina shared this team’s makeup and goals.
At this time speed and alcohol are believed to have been factors in the crash.
