Reactions to Summit Carbon Solutions’ presentation to the SD PUC

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Friday, the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission held a public forum on Summit Carbon Solutions’ request for the CO2 pipeline project.  Following Summit’s presentation to the public, the public had an opportunity to offer their opinions on the matter.

Pro:

McPherson County landowner Charlie Hoffman believes the pipeline are safe.

Representing Glacial Lake Energy, Hoscar Schlenker discuss how this would benefit ethanol industries.

Jason Womack represents the POET based out of Groton.

Lindsey Fitzgerald represents GEVO which would be based out of Lake Preston.

Against:

Brown County landowner Jared Bossly talks about what the voters in November stated in the elections.

Brown County landowner Deanna Sanderson questions whether sequestration can be done at the site themselves.

Brown County landowner Jessica Moser discuss concerns for the children in the state.

McPherson County landowner Matt Damont express concerns about possible expansion of his property in the future.

Sixteen-year-old student from Groton, Taryn Thompson believes this is something that they should be working together to accomplish this and not use intimidation tactics.

South Dakota PUC has until November to decide on Summit’s request.
