Recap of Aberdeen City Council Work Session dealing with the upcoming budget

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Monday night, the Aberdeen City Council held a work session to discuss the budget for the year 2023.

City Manager Joseph Gaa talks about the revenues & expenses for the 1st half of 2022.

Aberdeen Finance Director Jordan McQuillen compares sales tax coming in this year to 2021.

Gaa talks about some of the items being funded starting with the 911 center.

Gaa next talks about ambulances that the city will be paying for the next few years.

Gaa discuss adding traffic lights out by 3M & maintenance of other traffic lights all across the city.

Gaa talks about the Water Reclamation project that will get started next year.

Gaa indicated that in order to balance the budget that one department may see some cuts.

The Aberdeen City Council will vote for the first reading of the budget on Tuesday, September 6th.  The first Monday in September is Labor Day.
