Recap of busy week for the Aberdeen Police Department

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- This week in Aberdeen has seen a hit-and-run, a shooting incident, & an individual threatening citizens with a machete.

Aberdeen Police Chief Dave McNeil provided an update on each of these incidents.

Chief McNeil began with the hit-and-run that took place on Monday.  McNeil used tips from the citizens from Aberdeen to find the suspect who hit the child on the bike on North State Street.

Chief McNeil next talked about the shooting that took place on the parking lot at the Aberdeen YMCA on Wednesday during lunch time.

The suspect was allowed to be release at this time.

Chief McNeil discuss if anyone have any questions about gun laws in the city of Aberdeen to contact the police department.

Chief McNeil addressed the incident involving the person threatening the citizens with the machete on South State Street on Thursday afternoon.

Chief McNeil wanted to assure the citizens of Aberdeen that three incidents are not related to one another.

Chief McNeil wanted to thank the people of Aberdeen for their continued support and wanted to let the people know that they are looking for more officers in the community.

No names can be released at this time as they are all under investigations.
