ABERDEEN, S.D.(Hub City Radio)- The Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce held their first Chamber Connections for the summer and fall session Thursday at the K.O.Lee Library.  The focus was about the Children’s Home Society who are establishing a school based therapeutic center coming in 2027.  Children’s Home Society has been established in South Dakota since 1893.  Feature speaker was Mike Groher, Business Development Manager for the Children’s Home Society.

This year the South Dakota Legislature approved two million dollars for a new therapeutic center in the city of Aberdeen.  Groher provided an update on where that stands in Aberdeen.

They will establish their main offices at the Blackstone Office Building in downtown Aberdeen with the school itself near Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  They hope to have that ready to go by January of 2027.  Biggest concern now is getting the personnel needed for the location.
