Recap of Congressman Johnson Tele-Town Hall

MITCHELL, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Thursday, Congressman Dusty Johnson hosted a Tele-Town Hall addressing issues happening out in Washington, D.C.

Before fielding question Congressman Johnson updated on three main topics.  First dealing with the partial government shutdown dealing with DHS funding.

Johnson also addressed the Save America Act currently being debated in the U.S. Senate.

Johnson also address a bill dealing with requiring speaking English to obtain a commercial drivers license.

Among the questions asked was dealing with the conflict happening in Iran.  Congressman Johnson offered his take on what’s happening.

Johnson told the public that deals need to happen in order for Congress to get their work done.

Johnson was asked again about ways to lower the deficit which is now over 38 trillion dollars.  He told the audience about the 1.9 trillion dollar in discretionary funds.  He talks about the next step addressing what to do with Medicare and Social Security.

Johnson was asked with gas prices climbing since the Iran crisis, what can be done about that.

Postal service has been a major issue.  Congressman Johnson has offered a challenge to the Postmaster General David Steiner.

A caller from Aberdeen asked the Congressman about the DHS funding and more specifically toward ICE agents.  The biggest issue is dealing with those masked and has no nametag.  Congressman Johnson’s response was this.

During the Tele-Town Hall, President Trump announced he did an executive order telling DHS to immediately pay TSA agents.
