Recap of Congressman Johnson’s day in the Watertown region

WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- U.S. Congressman Dusty Johnson made his way to Watertown, SD Friday but first made a stop in Hayti, SD at the Hamlin School District, then he made his way to Lake Area Technical College for the Build Dakota Scholarship Luncheon, then off to tour a large Watertown employer, Dakota Bodies, and he wrapped up visiting with residents of Pioneer Ridge Neighborhood in The Village of Harmony Hill.

KXLG News caught up with Congressman Johnson at The Village to learn more about the day.

The visit to the school was described as “a ton of fun.”

While touring Dakota Bodies, federal policies and manufacturing were a topic.

Election day is approaching, on November 5, 2024, and KXLG News asked if that was part of the Congressman’s plans for visiting.

Democrat Sheryl Johnson is running against Congressman Dusty Johnson on the platform she’s running for Congress because “Congress is broken, and we need a South Dakota MOM to go to D.C. and get things done!”

KXLG News asked Congressman Johnson how he responds to comments about the “not getting the job done.”

Specifics of the activities of China were questions brought up to Johnson.

The residents of Pioneer Ridge Neighborhood in The Village of Harmony Hill hosted Congressman Johnson as the last stop, and he took questions from the crowd, taking the time to answer each one individually for about an hour.
